Effect of waste materials on soil properties

Abstract Industrial processes are the main generator of littering agents, and growing environmental awareness has contributed to a focus on issue littering. One biggest issues in world is how manage this waste given limited space available, high cost remediation, need for landfilling. However, idea reusing some an alternative solution decreasing process landfilling, reducing increase waste. In research, three different materials were used, namely plastic waste, aluminum silica sand. Each these was mixed ratio 1, 3, 5%, with silty sand soil. The consistency limits maximum dry density optimal preferred determined by examining comparing cohesiveness angle internal friction. Research results showed that unit weight decreased after adding materials: it 9.35 11.69% when 5% each added, respectively. At same time, inner friction reached 26.41% at highest percentage addition 3% gave value cohesion, 218.7% soils not treated silica. It also effect 1% plasticity, 72.7% from its original value.
